Yesterday, I wrote this exact post but guess what? I accidentally deleted it #sob. I decided to wait till today to repost it. I was so upset because I could not remember exactly what I wrote. I doubt any of you saw the post because immediately I posted it, I touched the delete button by mistake. My iPad does not forgive and so, I must rewrite.
Anyway, my post about how I spent 30 Minutes of Thursday described the products I used to twist my hair. Aloe Vera gel was one of them and I must say that it worked! It kept the
annoying irritating Frizz Queen She Who Must Not Be Named at a minimum. I was happy with the results and will certainly be using more of it.
Here are some pictures of
the les results.
I know you must be tired of my background being the same but hey, I take pics immediately I style my hair for you to see it in its fresh state. Well you can also see I added a few pics with different backgrounds!
Looking at the pics, I can see I need to put more effort into taking care of my edges #stubborn. I need to moisturize it more often so that it can actually retain length #stunted-growth
P.s: A lady told me she loved my hair and further asked me if I added any extensions. Hmmm. Before, I would have thought she was silly for asking but now I don’t blame her. I recently heard about a line of kinky hair weaves and saw how real they looked (Heat Free Hair) #lovely. So now, whenever I’m asked, I won’t be surprised!
Remember I showed you how I wore my hair from Monday to Thursday? Well I decided to change it up before wash day…which I shifted from Saturday to Monday. This is just for this week because I want to rest. I’m so happy it’s a long weekend 🙂 #Easter.
So you can see I freed my hair from the shackles of pompadour and bun and decided to twist and curl it. A reminder from Nerdy Nella, a faithful reader of my posts, made me dig out my Aloe Vera gel to try. It’s been a while since I used it for my twists. I was ready to see whether it would make my hairstyle well-defined and fight the evil
Humidity Fairy and Frizz Queen…They Who Should Not Be Named.
Anyway, next to the Aloe Vera gel, you can see my Curl Enhancing Smoothie, which has been previously reviewed and a spray bottle filled with water, to help moisturize my hair. Do you notice there’s no comb or brush in the pictures? That’s because I don’t use them if I am not washing my hair #HandsOnly.
I know you’ve noticed my squeezed face in one of the pictures…I made that face because I almost changed my mind. I wanted to just bun it up and rest. Oh well, things I do for this blog #Passion.
So, I twisted my hair…medium size. I first sprayed a bit of water on each section, then rubbed a little Smoothie and Aloe Vera Gel.
Then, I proceeded to twist. I decided to roll the ends with plastic curling rods like this:
Well this is how I spent 30 minutes of my Thursday evening. I will show you the results later. Hope I helped 🙂
P.S: Although I have a simple routine of using Leave-In Conditioner and Shea Butter, I still have products lying around so I use them once in a while. I guess it keeps it exciting. Your choice!
Ps: If you haven’t already peeked, take time to go through my look book
Well, I decided not to change my hairstyle during the week so it’s the same as Monday.
Changed it a teensy weeny bit on Thursday:
I’ve noticed that I retain more length when I style it less often…I wonder how that is going to happen because I cannot keep my hands away from my hair! I will work on it.
Also, I need to work on adding sheen to my hair. If you notice, I didn’t use the word ‘shine’. This hair don’t shine! I’m okay with it. It’s already obvious how I love my kinky hair. It gives me some sort of freedom.
I was wondering what this hairstyle should be called:
I wore my hair like this sometime this year. I don’t love it and I don’t hate it. I simply like it. I guess because it is easy to do. In the absence of a name, I shall call it Le Hairstyle #hehe.
If you hate the name, suggest one please 🙂
I want to show you the only Bantu Knot-out that ever worked out for me
Can someone tell me why I cannot recreate this hairstyle? I remember the products I used, I remember how I made it BUT I don’t know why it never EVER turns out this way. Was it the weather or what?
It’s like King Midas touched my hands turning them to gold for a day. Those golden hands must’ve done this because my hair has refused to behave and turn out like this when I try. I
will won’t give up. If I’m ever successful I will let you know #EndOfRant
This is the way Sandeey styled me to the office yesterday! She did not want to take a chance with the Humidity Fairy.
As you can see, she styled me in a bendy roller-filled pompadour and a textured bun. The blue bendy roller is hidden!
That’s it for now!
Sandeey Monday’s Hair
I need to let you know how Sandeey styled me yesterday (Monday) to work.
It all began on Saturday night after Sandeey rocked me in Saturday Night Twists . Before she slept, she re-twisted me, to maintain the style. Sunday came and she scarfed me up to Church. She didn’t bother to unravel me. Later that day, she put me in Bendy Rollers #Woohoo.
She slept with me like that. I don’t know how she did it but it didn’t disturb her sleep. On Monday morning, she removed the Bendies, unraveled me and thought: “What next?”
How do you think she will style me? Wait to find out! 🙂
