Havana/Kinky Twists

Hey World,

I decided to put my years of education from the School of YouTube into use. I got up yesterday and decided I wanted Havana Twists (Kinky Twists). I also decided I was going to do it by myself. After washing my hair, I brought out my packs of kinky hair and twisted away. Want to know what happened? Well this did!…

However, as a learner, I discovered I had used too many packs because my hair was too full and difficult to bun. Oh well, next time. I’m going to have to manage it for the week.

Hey World,

I told you that I would rock my hair like this all week and I did!

I actually enjoyed my hair because I didn’t have to manipulate it too much. I’m still thinking about next week’s style. Something new or something old? I guess we will find out soon enough.

I’m sleep writing…

Adopt Good Habits: DEEP-CONDITIONING

Very useful info!

The Kink And I

Hey guys!

How is your week going? It’s the middle of the week already and I’m not sure how I feel about this.

In this post, we’ll be looking at a very important hair habit- deep conditioning!

DEEP CONDITIONING: THE WHAT AND THE WHY.

Conditioning is a necessary hair habit. I don’t think it’s possible to get by with no conditioning. I run through bottles of conditioner like crazy and I haven’t owned a bottle of shampoo since last year. Conditioners help us strengthen, moisturise and detangle our hair.

To be of any effect, the ingredients in conditioner attach themselves to the hair shaft. Our rinse-out or instant conditioners mainly lubricate and provide a quick fix. Leave-in conditioners are designed to be left in, and provide conditioning to the hair for a longer period. Deep conditioning goes the extra mile, the DC goes in, penetrates better and deeper than other…

Black Girl Long Hair

Hey Everyone,

Yesterday a wonderful thing happened to me. I was featured on blackgirllonghair.com. That was the first site I ever went to when I stopped using relaxers 3 years ago. I researched on all things natural hair and got so much information. This is definitely one of my dreams come true! Woohoo!

Lazy Lazy Bones

Hey World,

So, last night at about 9:30pm, a not so bright idea popped into my head. The idea obviously came from my scalp. It was so itchy. ( I wonder if that itchy feeling is psychological because it only happens on wash days). Anyway, the idea was that I should go and wash my hair. I stood up and brought out some coconut oil my sister brought back from her office. It’s the good stuff! Smells soooooo good and it’s unrefined. Anyway, I took some and began my prepoo. I massaged my itchy scalp with the oil and applied some to the ends of my hair. When I got to a mirror, I saw this…

Well after seeing this, I struck a pose…

Well after striking several poses (I showed you the best shot #hehe), I was lazy exhausted. I tamed that mane into a bun and tied my night scarf. Wash day was therefore postponed to this morning. As I write this, it’s raining and that’s my queue to get more lazy sleep!

Moral of this story…none. Just know that the coconut oil massage took the itch away! I will do this more often.
